Prop Creation

Letter drop

For Berkeley Repertory Theatre, I worked on a letter drop prop that played a significant role in the show’s finale. This involved designing hundreds of letters and envelopes, stringing them together, and designing the layout of each layer of strings to create a cascading effect.

I used my organizational and planning skills to ensure that each layer of the drop was precisely arranged to achieve the desired effect. The final product was a stunning visual representation that enhanced the emotional resonance of the show’s finale.

Fuzzysurf Album art props

As a part of a collaborative effort, I played a crucial role in designing and executing the album art. Along with conceptualizing the overall look of the artwork, I also constructed two pivotal elements: a giant peppermint made of cardboard for the front cover and a fake chocolate cake made out of foam for the back cover. Additionally, I contributed to the set-up of each shot and helped finalize the album design.

Set for Fuzzysurf's Killing Time music video

For the music video “Killing Time” by Fuzzysurf, I was responsible for the overall set and prop design. This included building a giant smore out of foam and cardboard, creating a realistic bear trap, and sourcing all other necessary set and prop pieces. I also prepared an excessive amount of fake blood to add to the over-the-top nature and campy vibe of the video. Additionally, I scouted and helped secure the perfect filming location for the video shoot.

Couch

Using a magazine image as inspiration, I designed and built a custom couch frame and upholstery. I took care of sourcing all the necessary materials, including hand-crafting each button out of ribbon and beads, and built a piece that emulated the original design.
